(1) Anything used for sustaining human life and where it is clearly expected that a disorder of said product will cause serious injury or illness.
(2) Anything that remains inside a medical product which is used as an important component of a transport agent for oral and/or injectable medicines.
(3) Anything that remains inside a medical device to be implanted into the human body, whether temporarily or permanently.
(4) Anything that remains inside a medical product which comes into contact with body fluids (blood, plasma, etc.) for a extended time.
